“Only through radical reliance on Truth
can scientific healing power be realized.”
Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, 167:30
Radical = root, fundamental, thorough, sweeping, major, profound, uncompromising.
These are just some definitions for the word radical. What comes to mind when you think of the word “radical?”
I am reminded of a very significant time in my life when I made a radical (i.e. profound) decision to rely solely on God, as my Physician. I had been medically diagnosed with a severe form of anemia and needed immediate blood transfusion. As a new student of Christian Science, I had been learning after several experiences that I could reliably trust God and prayer in Christian Science for my health care decisions. Although I was quite fearful, after much prayer, I reached a point of calmness. I decided to rely solely on Christian Science treatment. As I prayed, I gained a deeper understanding of my true spiritual identity…It is what Mary Baker Eddy describes in Science and Health (page 475):
“Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements.
The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God….
Man is spiritual and perfect.”
I held firmly to these truths and the correct view of myself removed every physical problem. I was completely healed (see “Prayer alone heals diagnosed anemia” Testimony in The Christian Science Journal, July 2010).
At High Ridge House, individuals come to our sanctuary for healing and renewal, to re-discover and re-claim their spiritual perfection. With this radical reliance on Truth, patients practice this thorough and deep-rooted trust in God and they find that they are healed and blessed in countless ways beyond the physical transformation.
In these times where people are seeking reform in health care, Christian Science offers a radical but dependable means of healing. Prayer as practiced in Christian Science has proven effective for generations of individuals, many times after a medical diagnosis indicated a condition was incurable. This is evidenced by over 150 years of verified healings. Christian Healing Today

We lift our hearts in grateful song
And would be always praising Thee.
